Marc Ecko pays tribute to Playboy

Marc Ecko and  Playboy have partnered to create a limited edition collection of centerfold shirts as a tribute to Hugh and his infamous mag. The shirts have images of former cover girls in a range of 12 shirts. The shirts come in various colors for $14.99.

Hmmm either Marc Ecko Enterprises are getting kicked in the rear by the recession or being extremely generous with the prices. I'm going to assume that their having a difficult time staying abreast.

I like some of the shirts though and can definitely see a guy rocking one of these.

London Fashion Week..To Be Streamed

Hey fashionistas,

While Fashion Week season is well underway(Paris was a couple of weeks ago,  NYFW kicking off next week, and London right after NY) fashionistas everywhere are flocking to be part of the festivites but what about the penniless fashionistas? You know the ones who can't afford to travel to Paris, London(me) or NY to live out the fashionista's dream.....
Well good news! For London Fashion Week, The British Council of Fashion plans on streaming the autumn runway shows on their website.  All designers showing at the venue will have access to the service and, to keep you entertained in between shows, event organizers will show short films created by fashion labels.

London Fashion Week kicks off Febuary 19th-24th.

This is such a faboulous idea!!!! I'm so happy that the British Fashion Council is thinking about the moneyless and giving us a lil piece of the action.....

Save Donatella Versace

This recession is no joke!

Versace Doesn’t Expect to Break Even Until 2011

Yesterday Versace reached an agreement with unions in Italy to move forward with cutting 350 jobs, or about 26 percent of its workforce, by June. The cuts are part of CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris's plan to stop bleeding money. He expects operating losses for 2009 to total $42 million, while he estimates sales fell about 19 percent. Ferraris also plans to close down Versace's three-year-old accessories factory in Milan (though about 37 of those employees will be relocated to Versace's separate ready-to-wear plant). Accessories being the bread and butter of luxury labels, Ferraris said the cuts won't mean a reduction in accessories production, and expects accessories to generate 40 percent of revenue this year, up 5 percent from last year.

Ferraris reiterates in Bloomberg the sentiments of many buyers so far this year, which is that 2010 probably won't be much better than 2009. Not until 2011 does he expect to "break even on the bottom line."

Under Ferraris, Versace also launched a lower-priced line for fall called Versace Collection, which is 30 to 40 percent cheaper than the main line. Meanwhile, the label continues to operate other lines, including Atelier, consisting of custom dresses retailing for upwards of $22,000; the signature collection, which includes menswear and womenswear starting at around $1,100; and Versus, designed by Christopher Kane, which starts at around $280.

Aside from clothing, Versace is, putting its name on just about everything one could use for living large. They're opening a hotel-residence in Dubai, naturally, which should be completed by the end of the year. Ferraris said the label was also looking into another opportunity in this vein, but wouldn't say where. Branding hotels and yachts and palaces were the same strategy the sheikh who almost bought Christian Lacroix planned to use to turn that label around. Versace also recently launched a cell phone, which will cost more than Dior's $5,000 cell phone. They also may relaunch beachwear and underwear in 2011.

Sounds like they've got all their bases covered: clothing lines, living quarters, electronics. All they're missing is toilet paper! And maybe they should license the T-shirt pictured here, the latest by artist Christopher Sauvé (buy yours here beginning March 1). They've already admitted Versace needs saving. They may as well make a buck off it.

Story from of The Cut

Ummm...

I swear celebs or should I say their stylists are really trying to push the fashion envelope nowadays, which is great. Fashion is a vehicle for creativity and expression and if done with a combination of flair and a hint of common sense one can create a fierce statement of being but if not you'll just look like a damn fool..

Case in point...Ciara and Rihanna

They look like two mascots...

Fashion faux pas or fashion statemnent?

Grammy Fashion..

Jennifer Hudson looked flawless. You can never go wrong with black. Tres chic!!

Rihanna, she looks nice. The dress is cute but the fur/curls in the middle, Im not too sure about. what yall think?

Ashanti, very elegant!

GaGa what is this?

George Clinton, nothing unusal, this man been looking like this for years...

Brittney, WTF? You should know better..Fail

The Grammys

So how about those Grammys?

Last night was the biggest night in music, just in case you live under a rock, where the biggest names in music came to reap the fruits of their labor. It was also ladies night as the 3 hottest female artists, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, and Taylor Swift, were nominated for several awards in the same categories, including the most coveted one, album of the year.

It would appear that Ms. lace front wig, Beyonce, was the winner. She took home 6 grammys, making history as the first female to win the most awards in one night in Grammy history..talk about really reaping the fruits of your labor..

I usually have a love/hate relationship with Bey Bey but she had a couple of bangers, can't even lie, not to mention she is one hard working female. So she deserves it. She also gave a great performance, despite the song choice(She sang if I was a boy...ugh), and unleashed her inner rock star by channeling Alanis Morrisette.

Simply stated, Beyonce was on fiiiiiiyah!!!

But it was Taylor Swift who got the last laugh as she won top honors for having Fearless "The Best Album of the Year."  Mmmm, now I like Taylor and some of her songs( "You belong to me" is one of my faves) but I DID NOT EXPECT HER TO WIN!!!!!! I could've sworn that Lady GaGa was going to get that hands down. I would've put money on it(and obviously lost it). Where is Knaye when you need him!? I swear his outbursts are displayed at the wrong time..

In addition to Best Album of ther Year, Taylor Swift took home 3 other grammys.

GaGa, despite having a break out year, came  in last place with only 1 award. I'm totally shock because I was expecting her to be stiff competition for Beyonce but nah.. O well, it is still an honor to win one grammy and she, too, had an amazing performance with the legendary Elton John.

Jamie Foxx's performance was ill! It was soo hot. I loved the energy and the opera opening was hilarious and clever.

Now as for Tpain apologizing to Jay-Z for using autotune...ARE U KIDDING ME? Is it that serious? Just because Jay-Z puts out DOA explaining his distaste for the ever so infamous autotune, you have to apologize for using it in your performance? What type of bitchassness is that? So not only did you come out with a song in response to Jay-Z's DOA but you embarrass yourself by apologizing to the man? Why are you sorry? Autotune has obviously been paying your bills and helping you create a name for yourself so don't apologize. He must be on Jay's payroll because the ass-kissing was unnecessary.. Although his nickname is Hova, he is not the messiah of music! I seriously hope he was just joking.  Ok I'm done lol.

O and if Drake and Lil Wayne do another performance that's mostly bleeped out Ima be like Ron Browz and go jumping out the window...sheesh

Overall the 52nd Annual  Granmys were good and I enjoyed watching it for the most part ...
