Chanel is one of my favorite labels. Chanel is the epitome of classic fashion with contemporary flair and every campaign never cease to amaze me. The Spring/Summer 2010 campaign is no different. Shot by Karl Lagerfield in Buenos Aires, the barnyard theme from the runway was taken to another level by adding a bit of Latin sass.
I love it!!!
The stars of the campaign: Claudia Schiffer, Freja Beha, and Baptiste Giabiconi

Vibe Fashion Spread with Amber Rose

Check out this Vibe spread featuring Amber Rose. If you been living under a rock and don't know who Amber Rose is, she is Kanye West's girlfriend. Ms. Rose, who is an ex-stripper (allegedly), is the only girlfriend who has been able to gain celebrity status from dating the Louis Vouitton Don and I can see why. Although all of Yeezy's ex boos have been pretty, Amber Rose stands out. First she has the shaved head look going on which I think looks great on her(not too many women can pull this look off). Then she's fashion forward; girlfriend has a style(maybe not crazy authentic style but she has it). Lastly, she's pretty. Her whole look is unique enough for the prestigious Ford Model Agency to sign her back in the summer. Since then Amber has done spreads for eModa Magazine, Elle, and now Vibe.
The spread is chic and classy. Nothing wow about it but Amber looks nice. What ya think?

OMG, another celeb has hopped on the parfum bandwagon and it is none other than Ms. Sasha Fierce, herself, Beyonce. Slated for February 2010, Heat is the entertainer's first scent and is estimated to make $100 million within its first year. Beyonce's team hopes that Heat will "re-energize the celebrity category." Check out the commercial.
If the fragrance market is so beleaguered why does it seem like every celeb is launching or has a signature scent? Rihanna, Kanye, Eva Longoria-Parker, Beyonce etc etc. The list can go on and on. Is it that celebs are thinking like B's team? Hoping to create the parfum that will breathe new life into the troubled market? Nonetheless, B do ya thang. I'm pretty sure Heat will do extremely well.

Hey Fashionistas,
I hope you all had a merry and blessed Christmas!I love holidays because you spend it with the ones you love and it's a great feeling when you're able to spend time with the ones who love you back. Holidays also give you a chance to do something nice for others or the less fortunate(even though we as humans should be giving to others regardless of holidays)but nonetheless tis the season to be jolly, happy, and grateful for everything in your life; health, success, family and friends, flaws, rejections, mistakes, etc etc. These are things that make us stronger and prepares us for bigger and better things ahead. So EAT(love foooood!!!), drink, and be merry!!
Now on to the fun stuff. Here's what Santa brought me:
32" flat screen TV(can't tell me nothing now)
fluffy slippers(was in dire need of)
$$$ from my Grandma
Laptop elevator with cooling fan(my laptop will burn the cuticles off you lol)
and the Droid Eris
Santa was really nice to me. So how was your Christmas and what did Santa bring you?

With Christmas only 2 days away and me on a budget, I'm still shopping for fab xmas gifts for my mom and friends. So while brainstorming I decided to jot down some fashionable yet affordable ideas. Here's my last minute xmas gifts list.
1).Leggings and/or stylish patterned tights
These two accessories are a hot commodity this season! They come in a variety of colors/designs and look great with dresses, fierce shoes, shirt dresses etc. So you can't go wrong with purchasing a girlfriend(s) either one or both. Best part is, you can buy them just about anywhere and under $50. Forever21 sells the tights for under $10 and leggings for under $20.
2).Scarves, shawls, and snoods
Since it's winter what better gift to give than a scarf, nice shawl, or a snood. All three are winter necessities that any woman can use.
(a snood)
3). Jewelry
Can't ever go wrong buying a woman some jewelry...
4).Cosmetics or skin care
As women we live by our beauty regime so why not purchase the products the women in your life can't live without.
5). A snuggie
May not be fashion forward but all the rage in keeping you warm and cozy.

Ok so I decided to take a break for some me time and it was riveting and rejuvenating lol but now I'm ready to get back in the swing of things......
As 2009 is rapidly coming to an end and we reflect, fashion has had quite an interesting year. From 80's fashion being reinvented to seeing authentic creations you can't deny that 2009 was the year where fashion statements were escalated to a whole 'nother level.. Well InStyle created their list of the "Most Outrageous Accessories" worn by celebs. Some were definitely avant-garde while others eh...get an A for creativity and effort. Pop the top.

Recently French Elle magazine released their annual Best Dressed List and guess who won top honors? Our first lady, Michelle Obama.
Ms. Obama won first place in the category of "political chic" being more stylish than France's first lady, Carla Bruni Sarkozy, who came in second place. The first lady also beat our Royal Highness Princess Letizia of Spain and French Socialist Segolene Royal.
Our first lady is soo fly the French picked her over their own. As Michael Jackson would say, "Whose bad?"

I love high-end fashion but I can't afford the high-end prices so it always warms my little heart to see haute designers create collections for us regular folk. Here are several couture designers who have established collections for everyday retail chains.
1). Norma Kamali for Walmart
2). Simply Vera Wang for Kohl's(apparel, accessories, and home since 2007)
3).Charlotte Ronson I heart Ronson for JCPenny (since 2008)
Designers who have upcoming collections
1). Rodarte for Target(limited edition will hit stores Dec 20th with prices under $50)
2) Paris Designer Sonia Rykiel for H&M (collection on sale Dec. 5th in 1,500 H&M locations)
3). Jean Paul Gaultier for Target( will launch next spring in 250 retail stores and will remain on sale til April 2010)
Target is on a roll!!! Let me find out Ima have to add Target to my favorites list. I can't wait for the upcoming lines.
I'm soooo happy to see more and more designers create affordable lines. They finally understand not everyone is able to spend big bucks on the latest fashion trends, especially now in this economy. I mean c'mon who doesn't want to look fierce and ferosh?
More info on the upcoming lines as the launch dates get closer..

Hey Fashionistas,
Hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend because I did! Now back to business. If you missed all the Black Friday deals, wished there were more, or kicking off holiday shopping well you're in luck because today is CYBER MONDAY!!!!!!! If you don't know what Cyber Monday is, it is the equivalent of Black Friday, kinda like the virtual Black Friday, just on Monday. So instead of getting up in the wee hours of the morning to catch the early bird specials, you can shop while at work with a click of a mouse...sweet.
Since the inception of " Cyber Mondays" this day has grown rapidly. It is reported that more than 96 million Americans will participate(hope the internet won't crash). Also, the number of retailers have increased as well. Last year two thousand retailers had special deals on this Monday. This year approximately 7000 more retailers have jumped on the Cyber Monday bandwagon. So if you do plan on shopping today here are some places you should visit.
1). Ann Taylor is offering 40% off everything plus free shipping for purchases $100+.
2). DSW (my shoe haven) is offering 25% off ENTIRE PURCHASE!!!!
3) Arden B is offering 30% entire store off plus free shipping on all purchases $15+
4) Banana Republic 20% and free shipping
5) Lucky Brand 30% off everything and free shipping $75+
6) Steve Madden 25% off plus free shipping
7) Guess 25% off full priced merchandise and an additional 60% off sale items
8) Bakers shoes 25% off when you spend $100+ and 15 % if you spend under.
And the biggest deal of them all right now is..........
9).New York & Co offering 50% off EVERYTHING plus FREE SHIPPING ON ANY PURCHASE!!!! And if you know like I know, NY&Co. has some great stuff. I had the chance to go to one of their stores over the weekend and people were grabbing things up left from right. So if you see something you want ya better buy it because the next shopper probably going to grab it if you don't.
Other stores that you should check out is Saks Fifth Ave. Forever 21, 7 for Mankind, Free People, and BeBe because they're all offering free shipping (which is a deal in it's self). Check out Target as well. I'm pretty sure they have some serious deals going on.
Check all stores for details..

Michelle Obama in Naeem Khan for State Dinner

We all know that we have a one fashionable first lady! Time after time she stuns the world with her chic and classy attire (except the whole shorts controversy) and Tuesday night was no exception. For the Obama administration first state dinner Mrs. Obama wore an elegant and strapless gown by little known Indian designer Naeem Khan.
To balance out the elegant yet glamorous number she kept her make-up natural looking, her hair in a sophisticated updo, chandelier earrings, and gold diamond bangles on her left arm. She looked absolutely flawless!

Ok, so I'm a little late posting this(I've been very busy) but better late than never. Last week, Thursday, Vicki Secrets taped their 2009 Fashion Show, which returned to NYC,at the Lexington Ave Armory, for the first time since 2005.
The sexiest show on earth was hosted by Heidi Klum, who also graced the runway just six weeks after giving birth to her fourth child.
The show will air Dec. 3 at 10pm on CBS. Be prepared to see five new "Angels" (Chanel Iman, Emanuela de Paula, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Lindsay Ellingson, and Candice Swanepoel) hit the runway and a performance from Black Eyed Peas. Pop the top to see some pics.

Men wearing Kilts, Skinny Jeans, & Meggings...Oh My!

Food for Thought
So I was watching the Tyra Banks show yesterday and at some point she had a mini fashion show showcasing haute trends for women and men for the fall/winter season. As former ANTM contestants modeled pieces like cute boyfriend sweaters and androgynous suits the men modeled kilts, skinny jeans, and meggings. Apparently, men wearing kilts, skinny jeans, and meggings are in. I mean I know men wearing skinny jeans are in because I've seen petite men wearing them all over the place but kilts and meggings?
Now kilts are a scottish tradition and that's fine but what about passing it as a fashion trend in the US? Hmm and although Marc Jacobs is one of the designers who debuted kilts on the runway, it still looked very awkward seeing this sexy "manly" man on the Tyra Show wearing a "haute" kilt. I know that fashion is all about art, expression, & reinventing the wheel but men wearing kilts? IDK. It takes an extremely bold and confident gent to feel comfortable wearing one of these. This trend will take some time getting use to..
On to meggings which are leggings for men. This trend has taken Tokyo, Paris, London, and now NY by storm. Grown men are wearing meggings not just to keep warm but as fashion statements. Some wear them under shorts while others are wearing them as an alternate to jeans, trousers what have you. I would need to desensitize myself to this trend as well but it would be easier to accept meggings than kilts.
This year has been the year of androgynous pieces. It is more common and cute to see a woman in boyfriend jeans, sweaters, and pant-suits but what about the other way around? Is it as easily acceptable to see our male counterparts in skinny jeans, kilts, and meggings or should the androgynous look only cater to women?
