Vogue Italia launches Vogue Black, Curvy, and Talents

Recently, Vogue Italia got a makeover by launching Vogue Black, Vogue Curvy, and Vogue Talents on their website. The three new channels give spotlight  to talented Black fashionistas, curvy fashionistas, and fresh design talent.

While I am smitten at Vogue Italia's new found versatility, why oh why must women of color, curvy women, and emerging design talent be viewed as separate entities? It really saddens me that even in today's society where beauty and diversity are at a colorful and unique boiling point there still exists segregation in fashion. One would think that certain magazines and designers would've finally started thinking about the bigger picture. Ya know, the fact that the world doesn't just embody stick thin Caucasian women. Or the fact that women of all sizes and shades want the latest and hottest fashions, designed by the new, the veteran, and the indie.

Now I'm not knocking Vogue Italia's steps of open-minded progression(at least they're continuing to make some relevant progress since their 2008 "all black issue." Can't really say that about American Vogue)but it would've been great if the editors decided to make it more inclusive.

What do you guys think? Was this a smart and thoughtful move or just a niche?
